Rajo Laurel S/S 2012 , sporty spice

I admire designers who know how to condense trends in their collection seamlessly (sportswear, neon, pastel, underwater...). Rajo Laurel's S/S 2012 brought me so much joy. Colors bring joy , don't they? Pushing the limit is what Rajo emanates whenever he creates a collection. When I opened my email and received these photos , I was stoked! It's very fresh and "now"...

Athletenique is a word play on "athleticism" and "ethnic", the collection is inspired by Rajo Laurel's mantra of "fitness is fashion". The pieces feature sportswear elements (such as mesh, knits, ribbing, garters) juxtaposed with an abstract take on ethnic/tribal prints.

Athletic elements and cuts blended well with the vibrant color palettes. With his signature aesthetic of making everything "glamour", he added panache of sparkly embellishments.

The collection launches on March 10, 2012. 9am-6pm at the House of Laurel. See you there!
