Roland Lirio Spring Summer 2013

This is my favorite collection of Roland Lirio. It's fresh, forward and festive!! My "I -WANT-IT!" meter skyrocketed the most upon seeing the white leather accessories. From the smart and sporty white duffel bags, studded visors, the creamy leather baseball caps all the way down to the fantastic shoes by Gold Dot and NEREKU (for the men )! A wider range of audience would totally relate with his spring/summer collection this time! Filipinos love colors and he condensed the use of brights with tangerine and teal, maximizing them with texture blocking while undermining it at the same time with the use of white, grey , beige and black... The gold square studs added fun! I personally like the upgrading that he did with the blazers, varsity jackets and paneled trousers!

Weeks before the show, our Gold Dot team met up with Roland. We got first dibs of his sketches, theme, etc. and I had to come up with something for his collecion. Learning that his collection will use shapes,  white hues and plastic elements, I came up with the strappy architectural wedge . Good news, we will be releasing it locally. If i'm selfish I would've designed a booties version that I could wear but the collection calls for a more sexy-savvy strappy shoes. Next time! It was also Ally's idea to make leather harnesses to upgrade the minimal beige maryjanes and it truly worked well with Roland's accessories!
