'Insistent'

Based on the feelings of 'trying to emancipate and occupy', the collection's mood is anchored in the idea of reworking classic menswear clothing. Thus permutations of trenchcoat, waistcoat, biker jacket, button down shirt, t-shirt are reconstructed and deconstructed in a play of reduction and layering. The fabrics used are cotton in dense and loosely woven material; in jersey and polycotton blend. Other references of inspiration includes the classic cult manga, Naruto, and the music of Floating Stone.- DON PROTASIO

SPRING SUMMER 2010

Friends, this is DON PROTASIO.. this is the last of the 4 features I did, and i did save the best for last. haha

There is something soft , humble and tranquil when you think of Don Protasio. The raw emotions are undeniably evoked in every garment and piece he creates. As they say it , a designer is also a great storyteller but Don is exceptional in telling his.

Thanks to my good friend Mike Magallanes for introducing me to him.. his love for Helmut Lang also gave me the opportunity to be somewhat closer to him. chos! hehe..

Last season, Don's collection spoke about movement , fluidity and languidness... But this holiday 2010, the designs will translate a different tenor. According to him, it'll be more structured and erected but knowing Don i reckon that there'll be a lot of treatment. And by treatment i mean some deconstruction and re-molding of sillhouette.. His signature minimalist vogue is always consistent and strong. Knowing that he is influenced by Rei Kawakubo and Helmut Lang, i must say that his collection will be one of the best this season. I am pretty sure of that.
