Laitinen FW 2012 , Puffy
I am not gonna begin by congratulating how menswear has become more interesting , vibrant and revolutionary. It is given. However , I am seriously stoked whenever a menswear designer knows the value of manipulating trends, elements or whatsoever and constructing them in a new degree- may it be silhouette or the total look . Laitinen's FW 2012 collection is one bold example. The myriad of references ranging from 90's , sportswear military are fresh. Puffer coats made into ski jackets and simple boxy tees are my favorite. Menswear designs are unstoppable.
I was discussing just this with Style Crusader Jen recently - that menswear has become so much cooler just in the past couple of years. It's got to the point now where we're more excited about men's than women's fashion. Since it's been so conservative for so long there is still so much that can be done with menswear creatively. I feel like women's is stagnating somewhat...
