Miadore: Cult of Halcyon

" A collection of pure oddity and restraint from the past series.
Reflects the underlying symmetry of a crystal thus giving a field of vision and clarity.
Materials mainly used were acrylic and chains to achieve a more contemporary look
with influences from the Aztec Civilization."

It was like a sudden turn of events. Miadore is a local jewelry brand known for its ostentatious, modern glamour taste. A week ago, Yekky Balingit , a good friend of mine, sent me a sneak peak photo of his collection. There was plastic... acrylic. My heart raced. It was unexpected yet it is happening. Last night he released his collection on facebook. This album.. flooded with how much-i'm interested comments and I couldn't blame the people. It's ambitious, modern , edgy in such a way that owning a piece would deem you empowered. The Aztec reference is in itself and wihout a doubt a powerful symbol. The industrial touch is very now. I was truly surprised since I've seen how Miadore started as a DIY jewelry label and now it's growing and I couldn't be more proud of Yekky.

visit his page for more...
Yekky has a blog too!
This pieces are also sold at the House of Laurel
